During school holidays

This week my topic is about the holidays. I  will tell you how much fun I had and also tell you how boring it was at the same time.

During the holidays I really done nothing and as you know, it was really boring because we had nothing but just sleep. We also played some board games including running games.

After all the games my aunty came over to see what we were doing and she said” what are you guys doing?” and I said” nothing much just playing games. When she went to her car I asked her if I could sleep over and she said” sure, but you have to ask your mum” and I did. She said yes.  

When we left I had to pack some clothes for the basketball game, it was fun because we won 3 games and lost 1 but we were happy because we made it into the semifinals and when we challenged Ponsder church we lost but we were still happy.

We had a lot of fun and after basketball we went to church to have a big munch, after the munch we all went home and some of us went to bed but us we went ice skating, we stayed until it was closing time.... After closing time we went to have another munch at Wendy's and then had dessert at the Mcdonalds when we finished our dessert went went for a walk around the Panmure basin and the time was at about 12:30..

The Tale of Despereaux

Introducing the must read book of the year The Tale of Despereaux.
This term my group the Gates are reading
a novel called  The Tale Of Despereaux. 

The novel is about a little mouse called Despereaux,
he is very different compared to other mice. The reason why  I said that is because
He has a SMALL BODY and wait for it... HUGE EARS.

Despereaux falls in love with a beautiful young lady called princess Pea! When Despereaux falls
in love with princess Pea her father gets very angry! He said with anger “scat before
I would have you killed”.

Our group stopped when Despereaux dropped his handkerchief and said, "my
name is Despereaux ,I honour you". I wanted to read on but
we had to stop! Because the next group was coming.

What I liked about the story was the vocabulary and how Despereaux
was the only odd mice. I also learnt a lot of new vocabulary
so far , I learnt a lot from what I've been reading.

His father ran a grocery business.
His mother was on opera singer.
April 1st 1851 he entered Leharve secondery school
of art’s.
When in Paris he saw other painters copying their masters work
but he would sit by the window and paint what he saw.
In Paris he met other young painter’s who became
friends and fellow impressionists.
He was influenced by Eugene Boudin, Johan jong kind and Goustave
Courvet.
Boudin tought him how to use oil’s as well
as outdoor painting techniques.

Man retrieve mate's body while shark circles

One day three mate’s went out free diving and the water wasn’t that clear but one of the three man stayed out to watch out for some sharks but then he feel asleep but when he woke up he saw blood in the water but one of them survied but then they both decied to go 24 meters down to get the body.

Before going down they called the rescue helicopter to come down but when they hanged up the phone, they took a very deep breath and dived into the water and when they just dived in the shark that attacked the man was swimming around them in circles but they still moved around and the shark was still going around in circles around both men.

When they got deeper they both needed to take a breath so they swam up quickly and took another deep breath but when they both saw the the shark they stayed very still but they were still kicking their feet so they can stay up but the when they took another breath the shark just swam away so they tyied going down again to their best buddie, and when they went down, down deep into the sea they saw the man who was attacked by the shark but when they saw him they grabed.

After grabing the buddy from the shirt they both pulled him to shore and they made it wich was a pitty becase when they got out of the water the rescue helicopter just landed the man that was just driving the helicopter said the very,very brave to dive down and save the body.

Then later after saving the body the people that just dived down to save their best mate were so happy they bought him out but when the helicopter just made it to the  hospital the car made at the same time as the helicopter did but when they took him in and put him on the bed he coughed out a lot of water then he past so the mate’s who rescued hi called up the wife and said” your husband has past” and she started crying but after all that telling I hope you liked my writing.

Kiwi on mission to save baby elephant Bona

A kiwi man from Australia zoo went to Indonesia to help a baby elephant called by the name of Bona, she was only 2 years old and no one seemed to look after her because when her parents died someone took her home and tied a rope around the tree then tied her up.

Bona the elephant was very skiney because no one seemed to feed her so she was starving but luckey the kiwi man from Austrlia by the name of Munro brang her alot of food to eat and he also brang some medication.

Hungry Bona needed 1kg of specialised powder milk a day.

When she grew stronger she went into villages to educate locals to prevent elephants being killed for running crops.

The healthy strong Bona had a future and Munro was happy he went to help and look after and feed her alot of food.

Art Alive Oscar Claude Monet

This term has been a fun term because we are learning about art alive, we have been learning about alot of artsist but most of all my favourite artist was Oscar Claude Monet. I learnt abit about his family and himself.

I will be telling you abit about Oscar and his family, Oscar was born on 1840 but then he died on 1926 his father ran a grocery buisness and he was so lucky because his morther was an Opera singer wich was actrully cool.

I also learned about some of his painting’s and they were called Impressionary painting’s and he also liked to start with dark colour’s and then he will add light colour’s and he will also do little brush strokes and he will also do some blending.

I think I am already a fan of Oscar Claude Monet which feel’s really cool and I am happy I wrote about him...

My Mihi

This is a movie about me! It tells about my family and heritage. I enjoyed learning some new things about my family and found it somewhat challenging to find and pronounce the many Maori words that I needed for this assignment. I hope you enjoy my efforts.
